Motorola phones of all different kinds feature multimedia capabilities that allow owners to listen to music and take pictures. But, most importantly for many users, these Motorola cell phones also allow for creating and holding up to dozens of ringtones at a time. These tones can be made from multiple file types and extensions, and they can be loaded easily from almost any computer. Loading ringtones from a computer requires the Motorola Phone Tools program, and this allows a Motorola owner to use almost any file on their computer.
Motorola Phone Tools
Making Rokr ringtones, Krzr ringtones or tones for your Motorola Razr are most easily done using Motorola Phone Tools. This program can be purchased from Motorola, or comes standard with a number of devices and plans from the manufacturer. If an owner has this Motorola program, they can make Phone Tools ringtones in just minutes from their computer – using any music file saved to the computer’s library.
Motorola Ringtone Instructions
Making Phone Tools ringtones must begin by downloading the Phone Tools software on a computer. This can be done by installing the disc and following the default prompts to install the program. Once the program is installed, the phone should be connected to a computer using the Phone Tools USB cable – which comes with the program. Once connected, the Motorola Phone Tools program will launch automatically on your computer’s desktop.
Making Krzr and Rokr Ringtones
With the Motorola Phone Tools program open on the desktop, the cell phone owner is ready to make their Motorola ringtones. The first step is to click the “Melody Editor” tab on the “Customize” menu on the program’s homepage.
From this menu, the next step is to click the drop-down menu under “Melody Files.” After clicking this tab, the drop-down menu should be used to select a song from your computer. The song can be clicked on and then the “OK” tab clicked.
Once the song is selected, the next step is to click “Crop” in the “Selection” menu. From this menu, it is possible to drag the arrows under the song simulator to choose a selection of the song to make as a ringtone. The selection should only be around 30 seconds, and it can be previewed by clicking “Play.”
This process will be completed on the Motorola phone after “Transfer” is clicked and a name is selected for the ringtone file. At this point, the Motorola ringtone will be made and sent to the device – ready to use.
